Religious Projects
Admitting religions are largely responsible for the prevailing peacefulness of the society, we try to direct people to act according to what their religions say.As justice, non-violence, and humanity are the basic principles of all religions, we perform activities to teach people to act according to these principles.Even though policies and pure thoughts are more important than physical matters, we direct people to organize and participate in their own religious activities and to help and develop their own religious places—temples, churches, and kovils.Helping children in orphanages,Supporting persons with disabilities,Leadership development and capacity building,Promoting attitude change in the general population,Valuing socially impactful individuals,Prevention of drug addiction,Prevention of human trafficking and unsafe migration.

Mapiya Sambhawana Meditation Program

National Blessing Ceremony

To bless the newly elected President, Prime Minister, and the people of Sri Lanka, we offered 1000 lotus flowers and lit 1000 oil lamps at the Ruwanweliseya historic stupa.

Annual Religious Blessing Ceremony

A solemn religious program was held with the aim of invoking blessings upon our members and their families, the Honorable President and Prime Minister, and all citizens of Sri Lanka.
The event took place at the Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Viharaya in Anuradhapura and was graciously led by the chief incumbent, Rev. Nugethenne Pangnabhidhana Thero. This annual tradition reflects our commitment to national harmony, spiritual wellbeing, and collective peace.

Cattle Release on Unduwap Poya Day

We released cattle from a slaughter list. Ceremony guided by Rev. Eethalawetunuwewa Gnanathilaka Thero, Chancellor of Rajarata University and chief incumbent of Mirisawetiya Rajamaha Viharaya.

Formation of Religious Chanting Teams
In a meaningful step toward spiritual engagement and unity, we initiated the formation of religious chanting teams with the purpose of offering blessings to our members’ families and the entire nation through Pirith chanting.
The first team began their journey with a special training session conducted by the Chief Incumbent of Abhayagiri Rajamaha Viharaya, Rev. Kallanchiye Rathanasiri, held at the prestigious Bikshu University of Anuradhapura. His guidance laid a strong foundation for our members to engage deeply in the practice of traditional Pirith chanting, reinforcing both spiritual values and cultural heritage.

Annual Religious Ceremony & Remembrance

An annual religious ceremony was held to invoke blessings upon our members, their families, the nation, and all Sri Lankans. This spiritually significant event took place at Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Viharaya in Anuradhapura.
The ceremony also included a heartfelt tribute to Mr. S.V. De Serum, a devoted and valuable member of Lotus Club, who sadly passed away due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His memory was honored with deep respect and spiritual offerings during the event.

Mixed-Voice Pirith Chanting Offering

As a spiritual tribute, our team initiated a Pirith chanting session with mixed voices, a meaningful blend of harmony and devotion. The chanting was respectfully offered at three sacred sites: Jayasirimaha Bodhiya, Ruwanweliseya Stupa, and the historic Abhayagiri Stupa, invoking blessings for peace and unity.

After rigorous training as the first mixed pirith chanting group of Sri Lanka, our pirith chanting was professionally recorded at Rustic Studio.

Special Meeting with Japanese Reyukai Organization

A special meeting was held at the office premises with the Japanese Reyukai Organization, which also represents our Lotus Club. The session was honored by the participation of Mr. Nakajima and Mrs. Yuki, advisors from the Asia Project Office of Reyukai in the Philippines. Their presence marked a meaningful moment of international collaboration and spiritual dialogue.

Ashirvada Pooja at Mirisawetiya

The Annual Ashirvada Pooja was held infront of the Mirisawetiya Viharaya to bless our community, members, deceased war heroes and the nation.

Compassionate Care for Rev. Ahangama Sumana Silmathawa

During a community outreach visit to Stage 4, Neeraviya, we met Rev. Ahangama Sumana Silmathawa, a 102-year-old Buddhist nun living under difficult conditions—especially heightened during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recognizing her vulnerability and the challenges she faced without proper support, our team at Lotus Club committed to continuously assist her for the rest of her life. This initiative reflects our deep respect for religious figures and our ongoing dedication to care for the most deserving in our community.

First Visit & Monthly Arms Giving - Supporting Rev. Ahangama Sumana Silmathawa

Upon meeting 102-year-old nun Rev. Ahangama Sumana Silmathawa in Neeraviya, we committed to support her by providing monthly dry rations.

We organized a birthday event with religious activities. This heartfelt celebration was broadcasted on Derana and ITN TV channels.

A small function with religious observances was held in Neeraviya Dewanampiyathissapura.

105th Birthday Observances - Rev. Ahangama Sumana Silmathawa
Held in Thisawewa Dewanampiyathissapura, this 3-day event included a night sermon and alms-giving on 16th, and a small celebration on 17th, and 18th. Dry rations were also distributed.
