Health Projects

Through health education, we teach the importance of a healthy life and organize programs to show that health is the greatest wealth.We organize special projects to improve the healthcare system, especially focusing on children and mothers.Activities are organized to introduce affordable nutritional food—natural and man-made—to prevent malnutrition.We educate on the prevention of both communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Eye Care for All – 2014

Our Health Division organized a free eye clinic in 2014, offering eye examinations and donating spectacles to those in need.

Raising Awareness on Kidney Diseases – Kodigala – 2015

On 05.03.2015, we conducted a health awareness program in Kodigala, a kidney disease-prone village in Anuradhapura, educating residents about the prevention of renal and other non-communicable diseases.

Women’s Health Awareness – Shrawasthiwaththa – 2015

Also on 05.03.2015, a similar health awareness program focused on women was held in Shrawasthiwaththa to educate them about renel kidney health and disease prevention.

Dengue Prevention – Stage 3, Anuradhapura – 2015

On 12.03.2015, a dengue awareness program and mosquito net distribution were held in Stage 3 of Anuradhapura city. The Mayor of Anuradhapura, Hon. H.P. Somadasa, also joined the initiative.

Mosquito Nets for Shawasthipura – 2015

Continuing the dengue prevention efforts, we distributed around 125 mosquito nets to low-income families in the Shawasthipura area on 20.03.2015.

Hot Water Bottles for the Sick – Mihindupura – 2015

Understanding the basic needs of the ill and hospitalized, we distributed hot water bottles to 100 low-income families in Mihindupura in 2015.

Water Storage During Dry Season – Tissawewa – 2015

To support families during dry seasons, 100 plastic water containers were distributed in the Tissawewa area in 2015 to ensure safe drinking water storage.

Clean Water Access – Kodigala

We donated water filters for public use in the Kodigala area, helping reduce waterborne diseases and promote clean water consumption.

09.

Vision Care for the Elderly – Jayanthi Mawatha – 2016

On 05.06.2016, we organized a special vision aid project to distribute spectacles among elderly, low-income women in the Jayanthi Mawatha area. This initiative was supported by a generous donation from a team in the Netherlands.

10.

Dana for Cancer Patients – Anuradhapura Hospital – 2018

On 05.06.2018, we held an almsgiving for cancer patients and their caregivers at the Teaching Hospital in Anuradhapura. Milk tea and snacks were served with the support of Japan Reiyukai officers.

11.

Support for Jewantha Rathnayaka – 2021

Jewantha, a 12-year-old blind and asthmatic student, received a nebulizer from us on 09.04.2021 to manage his respiratory condition. Medications were also provided, and our founder Dr. Nanda Pushpakumara guided his father on how to use the equipment.
